DIY Egg White and Honey Mask
11:30 AM
Hey there! In this post I'll be sharing a homemade DIY mask! This mask only needs two ingredients, egg whites and honey. I chose this mask because of how simple and easy it was, and because it comes with so many benefits!
Benefits:
- Tighten and shrink larger pores
- Lift the skin, gives you a younger look
- Great for oily skin
- Gets rid of blackheads
- Smooth out fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduce under eye puffiness
- Acne treatment and prevention
- Slows down aging
- Complexion boost
- +many more!!!
What you'll need:
- Cleanser
- Bowl
- Whisk or fork
- One egg white
- One tsp honey
- Tissue or toilet paper
- First things first, you should cleanse your face of any impurities, and rinse with warm water. I used the Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Cleanser
.
- After that you're gonna make your mask! Grab your bowl, and crack one egg being careful not to get the egg yolk in the mixture! Once you've separated your egg, add the tablespoon of honey. Mix well until egg whites and honey are fully combined and mixture become frothy.
- Use a brush or clean fingers to apply this mixture to your face. After your first layer of the egg white and honey mixture, rip your tissue or toilet paper into strips and apply onto face.
- Once you have tissue or toilet paper covering all the areas that you applied the mixture, apply the mixture over the tissue or toilet paper, again.
- Repeat this process until you have run out product to apply. This took me about five layers each of the mixture and the paper on top. What I was left with was a thick layer of soggy tissue paper stuck to my face, kinda like halloween came early this year haha!
- Wait until your mask is fully dried, then peel.
- Rinse well and try to resist the urge of constantly touching your brand new face.
Now that I applied the mask, I can definitely feel the tightening. One thing I have to mention is the strong eggy smell (duh!). It is almost unbearable since you can't really breathe from mouth with this mask on. But, with all those benefits... I'm sure I'll manage.
After about an hour, it felt like this mask was never going to fully dry so I decided to just remove it. My face now had a few pieces of soggy tissue and felt kind of sticky. After I rinsed it and was sure to rub off all this little bits, my skin felt so soft! My pores and skin in general felt so tight! My face felt like it was deep cleaned. The texture was very smooth.
I'd give this mask an 8/10. The smell was hard to deal with, and it took way too long to dry. The process of this mask takes more effort than a regular sheet mask or a store bought one. Although, I do have to say, my skin feels brand new. It feels lifted and tight. As well as clean and moisturized. This mask did everything it promised. Was it worth it? Absolutely.
Try this mask out and let me know what you think down in the comments!
